Garden Wedding | Calgary Zoo Enmax Conservatory

We showed up for Alex and Jackie’s wedding and instantly thought, “today’s going to be a great day, we are so happy to be here photographing!” Jackie and Alex planned it perfectly; it was a beautiful blue-skied day in July, perfect for a wedding.

When Alex showed up at Jackie’s parents house, Amy, Paulina and Susie (Jackie’s Bridesmaids) were ready to put Alex to the test. A set of challenges were set for Alex and his groomsman as they had to prove themselves to Jackie, (they of course had to do this in the sexiest attire from Victoria Secret.) Alex and his groomsman could choose to opt out of some challenge at a cost; luckily Eric had some great coupons for a 2 for 1 admission to a Dinos game….

The celebration continued with a tea ceremony from both sides of their family. Tea, gifts and beautiful marriage advice were exchanged between them and their loved ones. Everyone was pretty jazzed for Alex and Jackie, especially the little kiddos who were VERY excited for the whole pig served for lunch. Alex and Jackie officially got married in the gardens of the Calgary zoo, and it included an epic Lion Dance. The dancers were really fun; we couldn’t help but laugh at their cheeky behavior and lettuce throwing at the grandparents.

The zoo really came through for awesome spots to photograph; this was the first time we got to use the Panda exhibit and we are not entirely sure because we don’t speak penguin but think the penguins put on a special little show for Alex and Jackie. The Enmax building was bumping with Alex and Jackie’s loved ones, everyone was so quick to cheers the happy couple as they came by every table. Both sides of the family were full of happiness welcoming each of them into the family. A few tears were even shed by Jackie, (annnnd maybe even Adele.)

Alex and Jackie are going to have the best life together, we just know it. We are so happy for them, their engagement session and wedding day was really fun and we know they will keep laughing and enjoying each other’s company for years to come!
