The Heritage Centre Winter Wedding
The connection between Shayla and Joel and all their family and friends was such a pleasure to be apart of!Shayla and Joel are high school sweethearts who were so pumped to be marrying each other! The weather was beautiful and sunny (for January, which means it was still kind of cold). They read letters to each other during their first look and took some time to soak in each others words and the sunshine on their parents acreage.
Their vision for their day changed a few times due to planning a wedding in Covid-19 times, but they always wanted to have the personal touch of their two family homes and we are so happy they kept that! The prairies where we did portraits had so much to offer, with rolling Alberta fields, an old barn, a Chinook arch, and long golden grass as well as Shayla’s loveable family dog Shadow, who kept photobombing them.
Shayla and Joel expressed how having fun was one of the most important parts of their wedding day and we did that by incorporating some time skating with their bridal party. We then headed to The Heritage Centre for their ceremony and reception located just outside of Cremona. This cute little hidden gem has turned their rustic barn into a beautiful, cozy and romantic setting for all weddings big or small. We loved the balcony and chandeliers during the reception, but most of all we loved how much fun everyone was having celebrating Shayla and Joel.
The connection and love between Shayla and Joel was apparent throughout the whole day. They had the best snuggles for each other and it was so fun seeing all the ways Joel could make Shayla laugh. We are so happy for them and just know that their love will continue to grow in the best way!
