Calgary Sheraton Cavalier Wedding Reception

Musical is the best word for us to describe Oldelia & Bobby's wedding day. Singing, dancing and music were a constant from start to finish over the two days we spent with them capturing their wedding ceremonies.

Friends and family of all ages burst into song and dance many times at every opportunity! It was amazing to watch and capture. Oldelia and Bobby had two ceremonies. The first was the Traditional Wedding and is a cultural wedding featuring ceremonies from their home countries of Nigeria and Congo.

The kola nut and coral bead jewellery were important parts of the traditional ceremony and there was of course an impromptu song and dance from Bobby's smiling mother!

The next day was held at the Sheraton Cavalier and was also amazingly musical with singing of lively hymns at the wedding ceremony. The ballroom in the Sheraton was transformed into such a beautiful space for Oldelia and Bobby’s wedding, we loved how all the tables were centered around the dance floor. Which worked out wonderful for the dance party to start early keep going straight through into the night

This was an amazing day that had so much love and joy that took the form in many cases of music and dance! Many of the traditions and ceremonies were new to us, but the love and joy were on full display as with all weddings we are privileged enough to photograph!
