Danish Club Wedding
Anya and David thought long and hard about their engagement session and wedding day, personally planning every little detail to make it feel right to them. It definitely paid off because their wedding day was so unique and perfectly them from start to finish. The weather was a gift from the wedding gods, it poured the day before and after but their wedding was a wonderful June day in Calgary, not to hot or cold, just the right temperature and no bugs!
Al, (David’s friend from work) chauffeured them around in his 1953 Meteor Niagara Sedan, our knowledge of cars is pretty lacklustre but we had a lot of appreciation for this classic gem of a car. Not only did it look really neat in photos but it carried them all around Calgary as we hit up the Glenmore reservoir, the brand new Central Library and the old Rundle hospital ruins for photos. We loved photographing Anya and David, they would snuggle up real close and whisper,” I love you” to each other, it was so awesome to see them enjoying their day and so in love.
The party was held at the Danish Canadian Club and they celebrated both Chinese and Polish wedding traditions under the magic of fairy and string lights. So many stories came out through their open mic during dinner and we thought it was so sweet how David’s family welcomed Anya with her very own Chinese name. Dancing is so important to them, they did a really nice first dance and Anya saved a special waltz with her dad. The party got going with a private swing dance lesson for all of their guests!
We are so happy for Anya and David, their wedding day was just the beginning of their amazing life together. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and may they never stop dancing together!
