Downtown Calgary Engagement Session

It’s been so rainy in Calgary this past month we really weren’t sure what type of weather we were going to get for Shereen and Deji’s engagement session. I think we watched the Calgary weather app turn from sunny, to thunderclouds, to rain, back to sunny in a matter of a day. We were pleasantly surprised when we met Shereen, Deji and their adorable dog Meika on the boardwalk by East Village and the weather was absolutely perfect. Shereen said it perfectly with a “the wedding gods owed us one.” We totally agree. This year has been a tough one on anyone planning a wedding; it was nice to see the sun come out for these two. 

We really like spending time with Shereen and Deji.  Even though we’ve only officially known them the past 4 months and unofficially on the dance floor we were photographing 4 years ago, we feel like we’ve known them for years! They connect really nicely with each other, they seem to forget about the camera and just enjoy each other’s company (Deji even put up with some kisses from Meika!)

Even though we have to wait a little bit longer for their wedding, we are still totally excited for their celebration next year! It’s going to be a really fun couple of days with all that they have planned and just getting to spend more time with them. Also we really can’t wait to pet Meika again…
