Alberta Wedding Photographer - Best Wedding and Engagement Images of 2020

At the beginning of every year, we make a huge pot of coffee, sit on our couch and talk about all our business and personal goals for the upcoming year. If we would have made watching all of Netflix as one of our 2020 goals, we would have nailed it!

In January of 2020 our big goal for the year was officially combining into one business, The Nogues Photography. We knew this would be a big change, and would send us on a new journey for our small business, but the change we didn’t see coming was the one that had us obsessively washing our hands and also, at times, our groceries.

 To be honest, at the beginning of the shut down in March we found it really hard to image that the first wedding we photographed in February of 2020 might be our last of the year. Luckily, we received really good advice at the beginning that helped us to focus our efforts this year. The advice we received was, businesses that use a slow time to focus inward rather than focus outward come out of the hard times the best.

We took this to heart as we continued to strengthen our business as a whole. We looked for ways we could improve everything from equipment, emails, contracts, schedules, lots of unglamorous computer work, all the way to the basics of human connection and what it means to truly document.

Although, it was different, we are happy to say we did get to photograph weddings, families, newborns and even some business portraits this past year. Calgary really came through to support us as 85% of our work came from past clients, (we know cause Brendan has a spreadsheet now…) we can’t even begin to express what that means to our small business and to us. Even six feet apart and wearing a mask, photographing connections lifts our spirits and gives us hope. 

So here are some of our favourite wedding and engagement moments of 2020, we can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store for us!
