2021 Year End For The Nogues Photography

This year was still an interesting one for our small business and to be honest the beginning of the year was bleak. It felt like the vaccine was this magical potion that we’d just have to be patient enough and everything would go back to “normal.” So we got a dog, stayed home as much as we could and waited patiently for our turn to receive our first dose of the vaccine.

But then things turned around and from the end of June to October we were in full swing. As we look back it almost feels like a big blur of photos. We were so happy to be back photographing weddings, engagements, families and even more business portraits than ever before. We hustled hard this year as we’ve been trying our best to continue bringing what we believe in, authentic and fun connections.

At the beginning of November we took our first weekend off since June. We ate chips in Invermere and watched hours of reality TV. We also talked about what we were thankful for. In our business we are so thankful for our incredible clients who have stayed with us as we work out new restrictions and pivot the look of their wedding. We’re thankful to get to watch wedding couples turn into families that we now get to see every year and watch their little ones grow. We’re also thankful for Calgary’s brilliant and resilient business community as we expand more into business photography as well as have other small business owners to commiserate with! We are also so thankful for each other, it’s really nice to have the, support, positivity and silliness of not only a business partner but a life partner. (Note from Brendan: AWWWWW)

Even though uncertainty still lurks around the corner, we have so much appreciation for what photography provides in our life. We wanted to share some fun moments from sessions throughout the year that uplifted our spirits and reminded us why we love what we do.
